Snooker: Wales pair make winning start in World Cup

Wales made a winning start to the Snooker World Cup, whitewashing Pakistan 5-0 in Wuxi, China on Monday.

The Welsh team of twice former world champion Mark Williams and 23-year-old Michael White were too strong for the Pakistan pair of Hamza Akbar and Muhammad Sajjad.

Wales are level with Northern Ireland in group C after Gerard Greene and Joe Swail won 5-0 against Poland.

The other match in the group saw Australia beat Qatar 3-2.

Wales's next match will be against Poland at 12:30 BST on Tuesday.
