Becky James set for track cycling comeback in Revolution Series

World champion track cyclist Becky James will make her comeback from long-term injury in the Revolution Series opening round in Derby this weekend.

The Welsh sprinter, 23, missed the 2014-15 series and the 2014 Commonwealth Games with a knee problem.

Endurance rider Elinor Barker, another Welsh world champion, has also been included in the Great Britain team.

Barker's younger sister, Megan, is among the other Welsh riders competing at the Derby Arena from 14-16 August.

Emily Nelson, Amy Roberts, Manon Lloyd, Emily Kay, Ciara Horne, Lewis Oliva and Owain Doull will also feature.

Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish have also been selected as riders race to earn Rio 2016 Olympic qualifying points.

James, from Abergavenny, won silver and bronze for Wales at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, but came to international prominence at the 2013 Track World Championships.

She won golds in the keirin and sprint and also picked up bronze medals in the team sprint and 500m time trial in Minsk.
