Wales Rugby League to start Welsh Hall of Fame

Wales Rugby League is to launch a Hall of Fame to mark the achievements of Welsh players in the 13-man code.

The first inductees will be announced at a dinner in north Wales on 25 April.

Four Welshman - Jim Sullivan, Billy Boston, Lewis Jones and Gus Risman - feature in the British Hall of Fame., external

"I am very pleased that we are at long last in a position to recognise the talents and celebrate the successes of our great heritage," said WRL chairman Brian Juliff.

Wigan legend Boston and GB captain Risman - both originally from Cardiff - are also commemorated in a bronze statue at Wembley Stadium, the home of the game's Challenge Cup final.

Clive Sullivan, David Watkins and Jonathan Davies are among the famous Welsh players who have not yet been recognised.
