World number one Mark Selby suffered a shock exit to 17-year-old Yan Bingtao in the third round of the Welsh Open.
Yan, ranked 66, beat Selby 4-1 in Thursday's afternoon session, but lost 4-1 to Kurt Maflin in the fourth round.
Just three of the world's top 16 players remain in the tournament after Ronnie O'Sullivan lost in the second round on Wednesday.
Judd Trump, Barry Hawkins and Stuart Bingham progressed to Friday's quarter-finals with easy fourth-round wins.
World number four Trump defeated Hossein Vafaei Ayouri 4-1, having ended fifteen-year-old Jackson Page's remarkable run earlier in the day.
Trump will face Barry Hawkins in the quarter-finals, after the world number eight beat fellow Englishman Craig Steadman 4-0.
World number two Stuart Bingham also booked his spot in the quarter finals with a 4-0 victory over Robbie Williams.
He will face Stuart Carrington, who saw off Brazilian Igor Figueiredo 4-1.
Meanwhile Wales' Lee Walker was comprehensively beaten 4-0 by China's Zhou Yuelong, who will play Scott Donaldson next after the Scotsman scraped past Mark Davis 4-3.
Robert Milkins also booked a spot in the quarter-finals against Maflin, with a 4-2 victory over Mei Xi Wen.
