Judd Trump set up a Players Championship quarter-final with five-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan after beating Mark King 5-2.

O'Sullivan beat Liang Wenbo in the opening round.

Current world champion Mark Selby had earlier reached the last eight with a 5-4 win over Welshman Ryan Day.

Marco Fu beat Anthony McGill 5-1 to set up a quarter-final meeting with Selby.

Welsh Open champion Stuart Bingham is also out after a 5-1 defeat by Anthony Hamilton.

Shaun Murphy, who won his first ranking title of the season on Sunday with victory over Trump in the final of the Gibraltar Open, faces Ali Carter in round one.

The winner will take on Neil Robertson, who beat Hawkins 5-0 in the first round.

The event, which runs from 6-12 March, features the top 16 players on this season's one-year ranking list.
