Lizzy Yarnold wins silver medal in skeleton World Cup event

Great Britain's Lizzy Yarnold followed her victory in the opening skeleton World Cup event of the season with silver in Park City, Utah.

Yarnold, 25, finished 0.68 seconds behind American rival Noelle Pikus-Pace, after finishing in 1:40.22.

Pikus-Pace was controversially disqualified from last week's first race in Calgary over a rule break.

But Great Britain enjoyed a successful day, with Shelley Rudman stealing her second successive fourth-place finish.

Team-mate Dominic Parsons claimed a creditable 10th place in the men's race to finish off an encouraging trip to the American venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

It follows his surprise bronze medal in Calgary last week, when he became the first British man to win a skeleton World Cup medal since veteran Kristan Bromley claimed bronze at Lake Placid in December 2010.
