Eve Muirhead reclaimed the Scottish Women's Curling Championship with a 6-5 win over Hannah Fleming.

In the men's championship there was a shock defeat for Lockerbie's David Murdoch who saw his side fall 9-6 to defending champion Ewan MacDonald.

Team Muirhead missed out on the chance to defend their trophy last year with the championships falling at the same time as the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

However, they returned to win their fourth Scottish title.

Team Fleming had to settle for second place for the fourth time after also losing last year's final to Kerry Barr.

Olympic silver medalists Team Murdoch had hoped to qualify for the men's World Championships in Canada, however it was ex-teammate MacDonald who won comfortably in the end.
