  1. wicket

WICKET Harmer b Parkinson 3published at 14:02 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358 v Essex 484-9

    Well that escalated quickly.

All action after lunch as a third wicket falls in 20 minutes after lunch. Simon Harmer swings across the line at Callum Parkinson and loses his off stump.

Parkinson claims bragging rights on his opposite number and sniffs a five-for.

  2. wicket

WICKET Duke run out (Borthwick) 20published at 13:56 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358 v Essex 477-8

Chaos in the middle as new man Simon Harmer is halfway down the track but is sent back trying to turn one into two.

Then Harry Dukes changes his mind, comes and then goes back befuddled.

Ollie Robinson collects Scott Borthwick's throw and does the rest.

Two run-outs in three balls. Madness has broken out at Chester-le-Street.

    The Essex lead is 119.

  3. wicket

WICKET Browne run out (Lees) 184published at 13:52 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358 v Essex 476-7

Nick Browne again takes a four off the first ball of an over, this time off Callum Parkinson.

He collects a single but to the next, he is then run out trying to take a third run and get back on strike.

But Alex Lees' flat hard throw is collected by Ollie Robinson who breaks the stumps.

What an innings - 321 balls and 20 fours, he walks off with 184.

  4. Postpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358 v Essex 469-6

Nick Browne forces a boundary off Matty Potts' first ball after lunch.

Essex are clearly chasing a declaration to create an awkward session and a bit for the hosts.

Browne follows it up with couple before he and Harry Duke share three singles to make it 19 off the first two overs after the break.

The lead is 111, but the light is getting gloomy and the floodlights are on.

  5. 'A clinical performance from Surrey'published at 13:47 British Summer Time 29 April

    Surrey (359, 22 pts) beat Hampshire (151 & 197, 3 pts) by an innings and 10 runs

A super effort from Dan Worrall and, in truth, all four of the Surrey bowlers.

It's been a wonderful, very clinical performance from start to finish.

It was an important toss to win. There was plenty of movement around in the first session before lunch and then Hampshire couldn't really cope.

They were under par with their first innings, maybe not by a lot but Surrey perhaps got a few more than they should have done and if you combine those two situations with Jordan Clark's rapid 100 - Hampshire were really pushed aside and from then on they were always playing catch up.

And I'm afraid yet again a Hampshire side has come to The Oval in the Championship and lost and that is now six defeats out of seven.

BBC Radio London's Dan Whiting: "Surrey dominated right from ball one. Hampshire fought valiantly in the second innings but they were always behind the game. The wicket was doing a little bit and the class of Dan Worrall (and Oliie Pope with his eight catches) showed.".

  6. 6 runs

Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358 v Essex 460-6

Essex appear to be putting the hammer down and take 10 from the first over after lunch.

Harry Duke dances down to Callum Parkinson and smacks a six to take the Essex lead into three figures.

  7. Back under way againpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 29 April

With the Surrey-Hampshire neatly tied up on the stroke of lunch, we are back under way in our remaining six matches.

  8. Warwickshire make the game safepublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 29 April

    Nottinghamshire 400, Warwickshire 293-7

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Warwickshire needed to get past the follow-on target of 251 to ensure this match ends in a fourth draw out of four.

They got there comfortably with Jacob Bethell leading the way. The Rugby-educated Bajan reached his career-best score and appeared on his way to a maiden first-class century before being dismissed for 93 by Olly Stone.

That was tough on Bethell who' has revealed that he has previously had mentoring from Sir Garfield Sobers and also cites Joe Root as an influence.

But it was just reward for Stone who bowled particularly well in the morning session. If the former Bear can stay fit he could be an exciting asset in the Notts attack.

  9. 'No sign of declaration at lunch'published at 13:40 British Summer Time 29 April

    Middlesex 203 & 406-6, Gloucestershire 322

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London

No particular sign of a declaration at lunch with Middlesex batting positively but not over aggressively in the run-up to the interval.

The ball has done plenty for the Gloucestershire bowlers again this morning, which should encourage the visiting attack.

Equally, Middlesex's progress may actually concern them with regards to their chances in the Gloucestershire chase.

  10. 'Somerset will have themselves to blame if they get bowled out'published at 13:40 British Summer Time 29 April

    Somerset 309-9 dec & 68-3, Worcestershire 451-9 dec

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The wicket of Matt Renshaw ten minutes before lunch has given Worcestershire just a sniff, but all the evidence of the morning session suggests that Somerset ought to be able to bat through to a draw comfortably enough, rain or no rain.

The pitch is flat and slow, with nothing to offer either seam or spin.

If Somerset do get bowled out, they’ll only have themselves to blame.

  11. 'Browne has reminded everyone what he can do'published at 13:40 British Summer Time 29 April

    Durham 358, Essex 450-6

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Nick Browne was unlucky to miss out on the first three rounds of championship matches but he has taken the opportunity here to remind everyone of what he can do.

After adding an even 100 for the fourth wicket with Jordan Cox he has batted with greater freedom to reach lunch with an unbeaten 169. It’s his 20th first century and, had the whole of yesterday not been lost, it would be viewed as the platform for a likely Essex win.

As things stand Essex will be deciding how much time they want to leave to attempt to bowl out Durham on what remains a good pitch, albeit there was some hint of help for the home spinners who claimed all three wickets this morning.

Wonderful hands from the England vice-captain!

    Notts 400, Warwickshire 293-7

There are still bonus points to play for though.

  16. SURREY WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 10 RUNSpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 29 April

    Surrey 359 v Hants 151 & 197

Dan Worrall finds the edge of Brad Wheal's bat and it flies to Ollie Pope at second slip.

It's a fantastic catch, off his feet diving to his right Superman-style to pouch the chance with both hands.

Wheal goes for nine to give Worrall figures of 5-47 and his eighth wicket of the match.

  17. Lunch at Chester Roadpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 29 April

    Somerset 309-9 dec & 68-3, Worcestershire 450-8 dec

Slow progress this morning in Kidderminster.

All about survival for Somerset. Just 63 runs added in 30 overs.

Exemplified by Matt Renshaw, who was Chris Tavare reborn in the way he blocked all morning before losing his head aginst spin and looping up a short-leg catch,

Somerset trail Worcestershire by 74 runs - still much to play for.

  18. 'Tall order for Hampshire'published at 13:03 British Summer Time 29 April

    Surrey 359 v Hants 151 & 192-9

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Even if Hampshire can get in front, and that is a tall order, just how much would they get in front?.

And how much time would they have to try and get that over rate down?

  19. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 29 April

A draw still looks the outcome most likely at Chester-le-Street after Essex move to 450-6 At lunch.

They have added a healthy 136 runs in the morning session to move into a first innings lead of 92.

Nick Browne has made the headlines, taking his overnight 94 to an unbeaten 169 with Harry Duke unbeaten on nine.

Callum Parkinson found some turn to clean bowl both Jordan Cox (36) and Matt Critchley (3), while Colin Ackermann claimed the other wicket to fall as Noah Thain (23) looked to hit out.

  20. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 29 April

    Notts 400, Warwickshire 293-7

    Lunchtime in Birmingham.

118 runs in the session for the loss of two wickets.

One further bonus point per side acquired each.

And a frustrated young Bears bat Jacob Bethell - for missing out on a maiden ton.
