A 38-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering his elderly mother in Liverpool.
Edna Gadsby, 70, was found stabbed to death at a house in Stoneycroft on 30 March.
Her son Leslie, of Moscow Drive in Stoneycroft, did not enter a plea to charges of murder and attempted arson at Liverpool Crown Court.
Mr Gadbsy, who appeared via video link from Ashworth Hospital, will next appear at the court on 8 September.
