Haitian quake survivor and his daughter six months on

Help

Twenty-four hours after the earthquake, Matthew Price met Astrel Jacques and his six-year old daughter Telia in L'hopital de la Paix, in a suburb of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Telia had suffered a severe head injury and a broken leg and was in need of urgent medical attention. Following that night she was transferred to neighbouring Dominican Republic.

Now six months on from the earthquake that also claimed the life of his youngest daughter, Astrel Jacques spoke to BBC News from his new home in Anse-a-Veau, five hours drive from Port-au-Prince - where he now lives with relatives.
