A kite surfer has been rescued after being spotted clinging to a pole off the Dorset coast.

The RNLI said the woman got into difficulties off Ferrybridge in Portland Harbour shortly before 14:30 GMT on Sunday.

A member of the public raised the alarm and Weymouth's inshore lifeboat picked her up 20 minutes later.

She was brought safety back to shore and passed into care of Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT).
