A busy road linking east of the Isle of Man with southern routes is set to be closed during the day for a week to allow for a stud replacement programme to continue.

The A24, from the Cooil Road Roundabout to the Braaid Crossroads in St Marks, will be shut off between 09:30 and 15:30 BST each day from Monday until Friday.

It forms part of a project being carried out across the island by contractor Colas will carry on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure.

The works follow similar replacement schemes on the Ballakillowey Road and Sloc Road in July and on the Castletown Road in August.

Five daytime closures of Cooil Road are scheduled to start on Monday

A diversion through Union Mills and Glen Vine will guide motorists around the area.

Access to the Mount Murray Back Road, Vicarage Road, Colooney's Lane and Lhergy Cripperty will be affected during the works but emergency access will be maintained.
