The 30-year-old man from Stoke was arrested on Monday morning and was due to be questioned in custody.

A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on 5 September has been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.

Ch Supt Elliott Sharrard-Williams, who oversees policing in the city, said: “I can assure local communities that we will take robust and decisive action against those who think they can get away with using firearms in Staffordshire."

Armed police have searched a number of properties and officers have reviewed footage from the area as part of their investigation, the force said.
