James McGuiness, from Yeovil in Somerset, appeared at the town's magistrates court on Monday where he also faced charges of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

His arrest came after an incident on Yeovil's Lufton Trading Estate at 12:45 BST on 1 October, during which the shot was fired.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that nobody was hurt in the incident, and Mr McGuiness, 30, will next appear at Taunton Crown Court on 7 November.
