Pair charged over taxi passenger's 2023 crash death

Two drivers have been charged over a crash that killed a taxi passenger almost two years ago.
Donna Brighton, 60, died when the Peugeot E7 XS cab she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra in Glenfield Road, Leicester, on the evening of 16 September 2023.
Two other passengers in the taxi - a man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s - were also seriously injured.
Leicestershire Police said following an investigation, Thomas Goulty had been charged with causing death by careless driving and Mohammad Sarwar was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Goulty, 34, of Aikman Avenue, Leicester, is also charged with two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving, while Mr Sarwar, 68, of Willow Brook Road, Leicester, is charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Both men are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.
