Drivers urged to avoid A-road after serious crash

Drivers have been urged to avoid a busy A-road after a serious collision.

Wiltshire Police has closed a section of Wilton Road on the A36, heading out of Salisbury, following a crash at the junction with Skew Road.

The collision involved a car and a motorbike, according to traffic monitoring website Inrix.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision. The road will remain closed in both directions for several hours while we carry out an investigation. Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes at this time."

Road closures are in place at Skew Bridge, Skew Road and the junction with Netherhampton Road.
