A teenager has been bailed after a driver was stabbed outside a shop in Gillingham.

The victim was taken to hospital with a chest injury and later discharged following the assault on the High Street at around 20:40 GMT on Friday, 27 December.

Kent Police said the victim had parked close to the Canterbury Street junction and was attacked by an unknown suspect who was with a woman as he got out of his car.

A 17-year-old boy from Gillingham was arrested later that evening and is currently bailed with conditions, pending the outcome of further enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
