Five arrests after man stabbed to death

Five people have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death.

Paul Foster, 47, died in hospital after being attacked in a house in West Derby, Liverpool, on 15 October.

Merseyside Police had been called to Muirhead Avenue at 01:40 BST and found Mr Foster with a puncture wound.

The force said three men and two women from the Liverpool area were arrested earlier in a series of raids across the city.

Appeal

Two men, aged 56 and 59, were arrested on suspicion of murder, with a third, aged 58, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Two women, aged 30 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Det Ch Insp Steve McGrath said: "We are still appealing for people who saw or heard something suspicious to please come forward as a matter of urgency.

“I ask those who live in the area of Muirhead Avenue to please check your CCTV or doorbell footage to see if it has captured anything which could assist our enquiries.

“Muirhead Avenue is a busy main road, so if you were driving past at around the time of the incident, please review your dashcam footage and let us know if you see anything."
