The plans originally proposed 30 houses, but was reduced to 27

Plans have been revealed for 27 affordable homes in Leominster.

J Harper and Sons is seeking planning permission for the build on three acres of farmland, between Mappenors Lane and the Kenwater river.

The homes would range from one to four bedrooms and would also include four bungalows. They would be a mixture of affordable sale and shared ownership.

Each house would have two parking spaces and gardens, and 24 would be semi-detached, with the remaining three in one block.

Plans also said new trees and hedgerow would be planted, with existing hedges restored.

Earlier enquiries regarding the proposal had suggested 30 homes, but Herefordshire Council said this was too many, resulting in a reduction in the numbers.

The application said it would be "inappropriate" to drop the number any further, due to the "acute need" for both affordable housing and general housing, both in Leominster and the county.

Comments can be made on the proposal until 13 November.
