A 16-year-old girl has been hit in the face by a man while walking her bike along a footpath, police say.

The incident happened near British Camp in the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire at about 17:00 GMT on Wednesday 19 November.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "The girl was walking her bike along a footpath when a man walking in the opposite direction shouted abuse at her, before throwing her bike to the ground and then hitting her in the face."

They added the man has been described as white, aged about 65, wearing a green coat and walking a brown dog.

The force has said it would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault or may know who the man is.
