A cafe owner is planning to open through the night to watch coverage of the general election results with his customers.

Andy Keen from the Coffee Bar and Kitchen, Stafford, said he was inspired by a conversation with some regulars, who said they were planning to stay up all night to find out what happens.

Mr Keen, who is asking people to confirm their attendance in advance, does not expect a full house, but thinks there will be a "nice cosy number" in his Mill Street cafe.

"We are expecting the Stafford result around three or four am, that will be an exciting moment!" he said.

A lot of people in Stafford will be voting on what the candidates can do for the town, he said, adding the number of roadworks locally have been a big issue.

The cafe is opening from 23:45 BST on Thursday until 07:45 BST on Friday.

Mr Keen said he was charging customers £5.00, to cover the cost of "nibbles" like chocolate and crisps, as well as unlimited coffee to get them through the night.
