A 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with a serious crash in Leicestershire.
Police were called to Tamworth Road, in Appleby Magna, on Saturday afternoon where a Ford Fiesta had left the road and hit a tree.
A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he remains in a "serious but stable condition", while two others sustained minor injuries, officers said.
The force confirmed on Saturday it arrested the driver, a 16-year-old boy, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, adding on Sunday a girl had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The teenagers have been released on police bail pending further inquiries, a police spokesperson said.
Detectives are now appealing for the driver of a vehicle that was overtaken by the Ford Fiesta shortly before the collision to come forward.
Investigating officer Det Con Adam Bancroft said: "We know that the Fiesta was travelling towards Measham, and shortly before the collision, overtook another vehicle.
"We would like to speak to this driver in particular or anyone else who may have seen the Fiesta prior to the collision.
"Alternatively, if you have any dash cam footage which may have captured something related to this incident, then please also get in touch."
