A man has died in hospital after he was seriously injured in a crash earlier this month.

Alexey Neeshpapa, 37, was involved in a collision in Pavenhill in the village of Purton, near Swindon, on 22 April.

The father-of-two's family paid tribute to him saying: “He was a shining star and brought light and joy to anyone who met him."

Mr Neeshpapa was registered as an organ donor and the family said they were so far aware that five people would benefit from "this gift of life after his death".

His family said: "Life will never be the same.

“Alex was handsome, smart and had a beautiful soul.

"He could turn his hands to anything, tried to see the good in everyone, lent a hand to anyone in need and was always there for his family and friends," they added.

They have asked for privacy but have also explained they have been "humbled" by many people contacting them with support.

Wiltshire Police were called just before 15:00 BST on 22 April to a collision between a Volkswagen Phaeton and a Honda Jazz.

Both men driving were seriously injured and had to be airlifted to hospital.
