Herm welcomes new management team
- Published
Herm has a new management team, which will be overseen by the island's leaseholder John Singer.
Mr Singer has stepped in as acting CEO and will oversee a six-person team running the island.
The new team takes over from former CEO Craig Senior, who managed the island since 2019.
Mr Singer said: "Herm is lucky to have such a competent group of leaders able and willing to step in and collaborate as a team to manage our precious little island."
Mr Singer praised the "valuable leadership" of the former CEO and said the new team wished him "every success in his future endeavours".
Two of the island's longest-serving employees will be stepping into more senior roles.
Head of Hospitality Tom Jones, who has lived and worked on Herm for 18 years, is the former manager of the Mermaid Tavern.
His role has been extended to oversee the island's holiday accommodation, tavern, shops and beach cafes.
James Hastings moved to Herm with his family in 2010 as a builder and was promoted to Technical Services Manager in 2020, heading the team that manages the island's infrastructure, such as buildings, utilities and livestock.
Other members of the new Herm Management Board are Michael Fletcher, Head of Finance, Kate Evans, Marketing and PR Manager, Shaun McDonald, Hotel General Manager, and Anne Devenport, Sales and Reservations Manager.
