Delays for drivers as gas pipes upgraded

Gas pipes on Bradley Road will be updated
- Published
Motorists are being warned to expect disruption as work to upgrade "essential" gas pipes along a main road gets under way.
Wales & West Utilities will be working on Bradley Road in Trowbridge and temporary traffic lights will be in place.
The work begins on Monday and, barring any engineering difficulties, it will finish at the end of May, the company said.
The gas emergency and pipeline service has liaised with Wiltshire Council to plan the work and it has been agreed that traffic lights will be in operation throughout.
Motorists are advised to allow sufficient travel time.
Simon Lee, from Wales & West Utilities, said: "We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.
"We'll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout the final section of this project to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum."
