Work on a town's new £25m leisure centre will start next month.

The development in Trowbridge will include a six-lane 25m swimming pool, a learner pool and a gym with 120 exercise studios.

Construction will start on 7 April on the site by Bythesea Road.

The East Wing car park will be closed to the public during the work.

Pellikaan Construction will be leading the build of the new facility, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

The leisure centre will also include:

  • Two studios

  • An immersive spin studio

  • A community meeting room

  • A café

  • An adventure play space for young people

  • And a "live well suite" for older people.

Wiltshire Council gave planning permission to the facility in December last year.
