Road closed after serious crash near Thirsk

Police were called to a collision near Bagby on Saturday morning

The A19 has been closed in both directions between Thirsk and York after a serious crash.

North Yorkshire Police said emergency services were called to the collision near Bagby at about 08:55 GMT on Saturday.

Police said the road would be shut for several hours and advised drivers to avoid the area.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact police.
