A scheme offering funding for tech ideas aimed at business in Jersey is to be launched.

Digital Jersey said the CXTech programme project had a pot of £500,000 in grants for people who have ideas for technological solutions which could help boost business productivity and improve customer experiences on the island.

It added the scheme - which is part of the Impact Jersey programme and is being funded by the government - would be launched on 7 November with a nine-week window for ideas to be submitted.

After the window closes on 15 January, the ideas will be assessed by independent judges, Digital Jersey added.

Digital Jersey chief executive Tony Moretta said the project - the third to be launched through the Impact Jersey programme - was a "real opportunity" for people to play a "significant part" in helping local businesses.

Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel added there is "rising pressure on productivity" in Jersey.

He said: "We know that, if we want to maintain or enhance our standard of living in Jersey, we need to increase our productivity – and this latest Impact Jersey programme provides a really exciting opportunity to achieve that."
