Power line fixed after tram disruption

No trams were able to stop in central Manchester earlier because of an overhead line fault

An overhead power line fault on Manchester's tram network has been fixed after passengers faced disruption in the city centre.
No tram services had been operating between Piccadilly and Piccadilly Gardens earlier, which remained closed.
The "low hanging overhead line" on Portland Street had led to the suspension of the Ashton line on Wednesday.
Transport for Greater Manchester said engineers had worked to rectify the problem and all services resumed by 11:35 BST.
Several services were affected, including trams between MediaCityUK and Etihad Campus.
