Rail passengers are facing delays of up to an hour, after emergency crews were called to a Birmingham station where a person has died.

Crews were called to Coseley station at about 06:45 BST, and some lines between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton have been closed, National Rail said.

"Trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up 60 minutes, diverted or revised as a result," a spokesperson said.

Disruption is expected to continue until at least 11:00.

British Transport Police said a casualty had been reported to them from Coseley railway station.

Paramedics had attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesperson said. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
