A supermarket was evacuated earlier over fire concerns, and police told people to avoid the area.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) and Wiltshire Police were called to the M&S on New Canal, Salisbury at 19:12 BST, following reports of smoke and a smell of burning.

A small fire was located in a flat roof where building works were taking place, a DWFRS spokesperson said.

"Crews are now ensuring that this is fully extinguished," they added.
