One of the key people behind the Jersey Bulls fan zone has said the site could grow over coming years.

Addie Viccars, who helped set up the fan zone in 2021, said the site would continue to "evolve".

Mr Viccars has been nominated for the BBC Radio Jersey Make a Difference Awards for his volunteer work at the club.

He said it was a "real shock" to hear he had been nominated for the awards.

Mr Viccars has been the voluntary fan liaison officer with the Jersey Bulls Supporters Group for four years.

He said the group might receive "some money" to develop the fan zone but improvements "will take time" to carry out.

"The fan zone is something that will evolve but at the moment it is weather-reliant as we haven't got a sheltered alternative," he said.

"That will happen, it is just a question of working together."

Kerrie Buesnel nominated Mr Viccars for the awards and said he "is just fantastic".

She said he made sure the matches were "memorable for everyone, adults and children alike".

"He just gives so much of his time to it to make the fan zone experience the best it possibly can be," she said.

The BBC Radio Jersey Make a Difference Awards winner will be announced in September.
