Salisbury's Fisherton Street will have overnight closures for the next three weeks

  • Published

A busy road through Salisbury is to be closed overnight for three weeks for improvement work.

The closures to Fisherton road start 12 August from 19:00 BST to 06:00 BST, allowing the road to be resurfaced.

It will also include work on the pavements although there will still be pedestrian access and people will be able to get to all businesses.

Wiltshire Council has thanked residents and businesses for their patience as the project continues.

The Maltings Car Park will remain open for free parking between 18:00 BST and 08:00 BST.

Councillor Nick Holder, Cabinet Member for Highways at Wiltshire Council, said: “The overnight works represent a significant step as we near the completion of the enhancements on Fisherton Street.

"We recognise the closures will cause some disruption and every effort will be made to minimise this as much as possible" he added.

The work on Fisherton Street is one of three large projects in the city to come out the £9m investment from the government’s Future High Streets Fund.
