A 15-year-old boy was arrested after a firearms incident sparked train delays in Chippenham.
Police were called at 10:50 BST on Tuesday to reports that a group of three youths had been seen in the Monkton Hill area, waving what was believed to be a firearm.
Armed officers descended on the area and extensive searches were carried out, Wiltshire Police said.
Trains in and out of Chippenham Railway Station were held and a train at Bath Spa was searched.
Three teenagers matching the descriptions were located in the underground car park in Chippenham town centre and an imitation firearm was seized.
A teenager who was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an imitation firearm has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Two youths were released without charge.
