Members voted to appoint Ray Beeby as deputy leader for the rest of the civic year and the council, which is in tier below the unitary North Northamptonshire Council in the local council pyramid.

The BBC understands that Mr Reuby is administratively suspended from the Labour party.

He has been replaced as mayor by William Colquhoun.
