A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was shot in a Wolverhampton park.

The victim, in his 30s, was injured in the early hours of 26 August in Phoenix Park, West Midlands Police said.

Kieran Thomas, 27, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent. He was remanded in custody by magistrates in Walsall on Tuesday to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 7 October.

A teenager also arrested over the shooting has been bailed pending further inquiries, the force added.

Anyone who has any information or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident is asked to contact police.
