Drivers are being warned to plan ahead for the latest closure of a section of the A3 in Surrey.

A stretch of the road between the M25 junction 10, for the Wisley Interchange, and the B2215/A247 at Send will be closed by 21:00 BST on Friday night, National Highways said.

The road will reopen by 06:00 on Monday as work continues to add a new lane to the A3 at its junction with the M25.

Several diversions will be in place, with motorway and non-motorway routes in operation.

Benefits of the scheme once it is completed will include improved safety and journey times, reduced congestion and increased road capacity, National Highways said.

So far, two new gyratory bridge lanes for traffic have opened and a further two will open once the widening project is complete.

The project is due to be completed by the spring of 2026.
