House fire death 'not suspicious' - police

The death of a man whose body was found by firefighters during a house fire was not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.

The discovery was made by members of the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service as they dealt with a blaze at a property in Bury Road in Thetford, at about 21:23 BST on Monday.

The man, in his 80s, who lived alone, had not been formally identified although his family were aware, police said.

Norfolk Police said following inquiries it was satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a file would be prepared for the coroner.
