A drink-driver has admitted causing the death of a 19-year-old man.

Daniel Johnsen, 34, of Ashtree Close, Immingham, pleaded guilty at Grimsby Crown Court to two charges of causing death by dangerous driving and driving over the limit.

Lewis Tuson died from his injuries on 31 January, the day after being hit by a van on the B1210 Habrough Road, Humberside Police said.

Mr Tuson was described by his mum as a "lovely person".

She said: “Lewis wasn't just my son, he was my best friend.”

Johnsen is due to appear for sentencing at Grimsby Crown Court on Tuesday, 5 March.

Meanwhile, Humberside Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
