Pedestrian hit by car driver dies in hospital

A man in his 80s who was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Staffordshire has died.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Church Road, in Penkridge, at 12:13 GMT on Tuesday and gave trauma treatment at the scene to pedestrian.

The driver of a black Skoda involved in the crash was not injured.

Staffordshire Police has issued an appeal for witnesses.

Officers said the deceased man’s family was being supported by specialist officers.

"We are keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area or those with any information which could help collision investigators," a force statement read.
