Planned engineering works mean the Elizabeth and Piccadilly lines will be part-closed this weekend.

Transport for London (TfL) has said there will be no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge and no service between Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 to Terminal 5 on both days on the Piccadilly Line.

TfL said the Piccadilly Line will serve Terminals 2, 3 and 4, with buses available for Terminal 5.

On the Elizabeth Line there will be no service all weekend to Heathrow, or between Paddington and Abbey Wood or Stratford but trains will still run between Liverpool Street and Shenfield.

TfL has urged commuters to plan ahead before travelling as other services are also disrupted on Saturday and Sunday:

  • Heathrow Express will not run on both days from Paddington Station

  • London Overground services will be suspended due to planned track repairs between Highbury and Islington and Clapham Junction, Crystal Palace, New cross and West Croydon on Saturday and Sunday as well as other disruption

  • Disruption to National Rail services at Paddington Station, external all weekend.

It has also warned there will be "exceptionally busy" services on Piccadilly, Central and Jubilee lines to and from Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park with potential queues, changes to station entrances and exits and road closures.

Elizabeth line director Howard Smith, said earlier this month: "These works were planned several months in advance and should help ensure that the Elizabeth line infrastructure operates reliably."

"Network Rail and HS2 are also preparing for their new railway and station at Old Oak Common which will also mean some future closures."
