The M4 Prince of Wales bridge westbound will be closed overnight after torrential rain "hampered" emergency work.

The works will take place on Monday from 18:00 BST to 06:00 BST on Tuesday.

Drivers travelling on the bridge's westbound carriageway are being advised to use the westbound M48 Severn Bridge route into South Wales instead.

The road was closed for emergency night repairs on Sunday due to a "carriageway defect", and reopened at about 04:30 BST on Monday.
