An Aberdeen block of flats was evacuated following the discovery of what police say were "potentially hazardous substances" in one of the properties.

The emergency services were sent to Cadenhead Place, in the city's Ashgrove area, shortly before 10:00 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said the evacuation was taken as a precautionary measure, and that residents have since returned to their properties.

Officers remained at the scene on Monday and inquiries are ongoing.
