A total of £1.4m will be distributed across the charity sector in Guernsey for 2025, a fund has said.

The Social Investment Fund (SIF) said the amount was 52% more than what was distributed in 2024.

It said about £300,000 would be allocated to a small grants programme.

Applications are open to registered charities and non-profit organisations which benefit and support Bailiwick residents.

'Serious challenge'

SIF Chair Tim Barker said the fund encouraged charities "of any sector or size" to apply.

He said: "SIF is delighted to be able to distribute significantly more money this year to benefit local charities, as we know that funding continues to be a serious challenge in the current economic climate.

"This is our first round of funding in 2025.

"Small grants are vital to help charities with running or project costs."

SIF said it would open two rounds of small and major grants each in 2025.

Applications for small grants of up to £15,000 are open until Friday 7 March.
