Severe gales brought by Storm Kathleen have led to disruption to air and ferry travel to and from the Isle of Man.

All EasyJet flights serving the island have been cancelled as a yellow weather warning for gales remains in place until 21:00 BST.

Daytime sailings of the Manxman between Douglas and Heysham and its evening crossing to Belfast have been cancelled.

Fast craft ferry Manannan’s morning return trip to Liverpool has also been scrapped.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said there was a threat of further disruption to sailings throughout the weekend.

The conditions have also lead to some sporting fixtures on the island being called off, including FC Isle of Man's game against Lower Breck FC.

That match at the Bowl in Douglas has been postponed after the visiting team's flight to the island was cancelled.

Ronaldsway Met Office also issued an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping in exposed coastal areas around the time if high tide.
