Parish officials in part of Jersey have issued a warning about the "unnecessary risks" of tampering with road signs.

St Saviour Parish said reports of road signs being damaged had been received in the Highlands Lane and Maison St Louis area.

A message from the parish said interfering with the signs could lead to confusion, increase the likelihood of accidents and result in additional costs to ratepayers to replace them.

A parish spokesperson said tampering with road signs was illegal and anyone who witnessed similar incidents should report them to the duty centenier, external.
