Islanders can rent out their home in Jersey for up to 12 weeks each year without planning permission after a change to the law came into force.
The Planning and Building (General Development) (Jersey) Order 2011 was amended on 25 March, external.
The amendment will make it easier for islanders to use their property as short-term holiday lets because they will not have to apply for planning permission for change of use.
The accommodation must be for people to use "for their leisure and not as their main dwelling", the amendment order said.
