A park and ride service for hospital staff is being reintroduced to ease congestion at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

The proposal is part of wider plans to make it easier for patients, visitors and staff to park at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

It is proposed that, as an interim measure, the park and ride will operate from Sixways Stadium from the early autumn, but the hospital trust said it was still exploring permanent options.

A new 850 space multi-storey car park near the hospital is one of the long term options being introduced to manage the flow of people in cars visiting.

Stephen Collman, managing director of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said the scheme would "give colleagues more parking options, allowing those who wish to use an alternative to on-site parking the choice to do so.”
