Extra bus services will be added to timetables for Hull's Park and Ride in the run up to Christmas, Hull City Council has said.

Stagecoach East Midlands and the authority have confirmed the updated timetable will run from 21 November until 22 December.

It will also feature additional services on Thursday nights and Sundays.

Shoppers can park for free at Priory Park and will also be given discounted return fares.

Additional buses will run every 20 minutes from 18:00 GMT until 21:00 on Thursdays and from 10:00 until 17:00 on Sundays.

The inbound pick-up and drop-off points for inbound services will be Priory Park, Hessle High Road, Askew Avenue, Boothferry Road, Anlaby Road and Hull Paragon Interchange.

Outbound pick up and drop off points will also include Ferensway, Bond Street and Carr Lane.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo said: "The council is delighted to bring this popular service back for a second year and provide an alternative and more sustainable transport option in the build-up to Christmas."
