Two more people have been arrested following a shooting at a car wash.

A man in his 50s was left with pellet injuries to his face, chest, forehead and eye after the shooting, which took place at Lanchester Hand Car Wash, in County Durham, at 19:30 BST on Monday.

Firearms officers from Durham Police tracked down an initial suspect on Tuesday, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The force has now confirmed a man in his 20s and another in his 40s have also been arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

All three suspects remain in police custody.

Police said a car pulled into the car wash's forecourt and a passenger opened fire at four men, who had arrived at the business a few minutes earlier.

The car was then driven off and was last seen heading in the direction of Consett.

The force said it had since recovered the car - a black Nissan Navara - but was working to discover where it travelled to after the shooting.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the car is asked to contact Durham Police.
